The Blue Tang, also known as Hippo Tang, is a tropical fish found at Teman Paradise Beach, Pacar Beach, and rarely Sembilan Island. It has a vivid blue body with a yellow tail and a signature palette-like black mark. It is a common catch at either beaches.

Techniques

Because of its vivid blue body, this fish is easily visible in the water though it is rather small. It is happily take any baits at its way and likes to hit first.

Any S- and M-sized tackle works for this fish.

Trivia

• In the movie "Finding Nemo" and its sequel "Finding Dory", one of its characters, Dory, is a female Blue Tang suffering from retrograde amnesia. Both of her parents appear in the sequel.
• Although they are popular at the aquarium trade, their flesh have a foul smell and may cause poisoning if eaten.
• This species has a pair of sharp spine at its tail as a means of defense.
